Wtf is going on at Google? I’m surprised to see this happening at Google. Have any other female employees at Google experienced this? “Google has a “bro-culture” that allowed the daily sexual harassment of a female software engineer, a new lawsuit from a former employee alleges.” https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/feb/28/google-lawsuit-sexual-harassment-bro-culture
+1 Google is not a Bro place..
Is Marrisa Mayer is also a victim of bro culture in Google or she is the one who used this culture successfully?
I don't know how anyone could call Marissa a victim?
Yeah, examples of sexual harassment she's giving include "shooting at her with a nerf gun". Or a guy hitting on her *once* without any proof that he didn't give up after her first refusal. Also, according to the ars technica article, she was fired from Google. So to me it seems she now sensed a moment to retaliate and make some quick buck. I wish I worked at Google at these years. Now the company culture is dull as fuck - everyone is serious and just doing their job. No pranks, few nerf guns, social interaction limited to minimum. And diversity propaganda everywhere:/
My roommate was at G, his whole team was 40+ parents who went to work and went home with little social interactions with coworkers.
BS lolsuit, zero chances.
I am sure she's just angry after she's fired due to low performance. Anyone can just easily nitpick anything if they want their company to be in trouble. Google still has one of the most non-bro cultures among all other companies. Everyone is generally way too nice. Sometimes I even hope it to be more "bro" and less "nice"...
I worked at google and definitely saw my fair share of awkward men harassing women that reported to them or women who worked nearby
Which office is that in the photo?
Google has the most tame office culture I’ve ever seen. Most Googlers fit the mold of 1. Went to top school for STEM 2. Got married in early to mid 20s to their longtime partner 3. Focuses on career and one side hobby picked from a list that’s been approved by their significant other 4. Extremely polite, to the point that it’s somewhat awkward Maybe this person’s experience was different; it’s a big company after all.
Very strange. Totally not a bro culture from what I can see. What I see is a lot of geeky, and maybe awkward people. The office is dead after 5. Most people around are in the 30s and have families. That said, google is very big.
+1 unless memeing about your toddler counts as a bro-down I have no idea what they're talking about.
