Not really. Suppose you were at any of the FAANG companies, you would be allotted stock worth 550K at L5. Suppose it happened four years ago. And suppose you had a four year cliff (because that's approximately what happened in my case, so we will apply it here as well). Their stock grew by about 100% in four years. So it's worth 1.1M by the time it lands in your account. This isn't very surprising.
