Back in January Apple Blinders said that a lot of these positions were reassigned elsewhere. However, it appears that over 190 were actually let go.

Tesla is practically already the "Apple" of cars.
They are expensive, nice UI, and walled garden experience.

Apple car already exists. It just isn't owned by apple and doesn't have Siri/itunes integration

Apple performed 79,745 miles of testing in California between Nov. 31, 2017, and Dec. 1, 2018 — far less than two top competitors, Waymo of Mountain View and Cruise of San Francisco, according to DMV data this month.

For the same time period, Apple reported that its autonomous system had an error or a human driver took control every 1.1 mile. By comparison, Waymo had a disengagement every 11,017 miles and Cruise had one every 5,204 miles.

That shows the entire division ought to have been fired months back

Made no sense. Apple perfects tech. It doesn't do the initial r&d.

E.g. apple wasn't the first capacitive touchscreen phone. Wasn't first "smartphone"...etc
