Kind people of Blind, I need some help. I am currently a FTE on H1B at my current company which is a small software business. I have an offer from a software consulting firm but they want to hire me through C2C not do H1B. Now since its a software consulting firm, I will already kind of a contractor for end client like other consulting firms from my understanding. I know nowadays thisare frowned upon. I really like the position but wanted advice on : 1. Switch to C2C and work for software consulting form and work for client. This feels like subcontracting. 2. Ask them to file H1B and switch to software consulting firm and work for client. 3. Dont work for them. Will I have H1B issues in either one or two? My current employer is not really looking to GC so thats why trying hard to get out. Edit : Company A is software consulting firm who have clients. Company B is the vendor for C2C. In option one, I will be a FTE of Company B working for A C2C. In option two, I will be a FTE for Company A. TC: <100K
Listen to me, mark my words. Stay with FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT. you have no idea what consulting in h1 visa is like. IT IS PROSTITUTION!!
It is not an ICC but sure.
Indian Consulting Company or not, does not matter. The numbers appear lucrative, but you'd get sucked into a vicious cycle of unworthiness and eternal insecurity
Sincere advice, stay with your full time job
^^^^ this ... You are a billable resource they can screw you anytime. No benefit I.e no vacation , no health Care , no raises nothing
but I will be FTE for the software consulting firm in scenario 2.
Dude if you are into consulting they see you as temp employee the moment they wanted you on C2C. So the moment the contract or something changes they will fire you . They don't have a product , no support just people middle man . Why should they keep you once your utility is done for . They may try for a month tops to get a new client project but nothing guaranteed . Not totally worth it . Find another full time job . It's good time to find full time . Between be prepared to be screwed by uscsis and during stamping
Yep not worth it... If you want to switch, move to another full time position... It's not wise to do c2c in the current immigration atmosphere
Okay, option 2 is fine?
No it's not, like teradata said.. you won't have healthcare.. the TC they offer is high simply cos they won't offer benefits.. and if you don't convert your trial with the client you'll be left in the lurch.. it's very dangerous especially on H1B
Just prepare a bit more and try and get into a decent product company . Not saying faang but get into a decent product company
If you go with C2C better get some lube ready
Most of the pay goes to insurance and security. You are at the mercy of the client with constant fear.
C2C is fine as long as you know the rules. Financials will be in control of 2-3 employers, while visa with 1. Which is safe too incase of recession.
Except contractors are usually first to go when that happens
Yes, but look at the positive side your visa held by contracting firm and u will find some other contract.
What is C2C? You can only be employed with 1 organization on H1B. Is the second company going to hire you on contract through the first company? Would you have to resign from your current org to take up this position?
Corp to Corp. I also dont really know what it means. Hence, here.
