Cisco certificates are really great to learn the networking basics. But work experience is something all are looking for.
I am a network engineer at Cisco. Network automation and network testing might be some fields that can help but required coding

I see, knowing network protocols is good. So cisco/juniper certification is good to have. I would also recommend learning any of the coding languages.

+1 @Sr1pr1 learn python - not just the language but more importantly the data structures and algorithms, and OOP using Python. In parallel, try to get into a Network Engineer role in any Enterprise for hands-on knowledge of networking. Also a good idea to go for DC & cloud certification over time.
