Actual quote "Let's build off the success we've had on Gov. Scott. The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases bankrupting the state. That is not going to work." This is why people hate CNN
Classic alt-right - blame the victim lol
CNN is not the victim here, CNN is trying to promote racism to get attention and thus cash. Your victim mentality just went overboard.
Quick google search reveals every news outlet reported this, including Fox. Why would they not? Your boy screwed up, sorry. How in hell can you blame a news outlet for reporting it?
Eh what?! What’s wrong with reporting racially charged language? How is this CNNs fault?
They edited the quote and dropped context. Let me do the same to you maybe you'll get it: "Racially charged, say Logitech employees" You did say those words didn't you? How is it my fault?
I did. That’s correct. What is wrong with “racially charged”? Don’t get your point. Dude for real. He used “monkey” in context of an African American opponent. No context needed.
Should make this a poll. Would like to know how many Blinders think DeSantis was being racist with this remark.
Racist or stupid. Doesn’t matter. Ether way clearly not Gov material.
I tend to hope it’s just stupidity and an honest mistake as the phrase to mean messed up. I totally think he deserves a good ribbing for it, but I do not think it should be blown out into a huge “he’s a raging racist” and republicans support racism message. Call him a dunce, don’t vote for him and move on.
Err what did he mean by “monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda” if not voting for Andrew Gillum? What verb could you substitute for “monkey” that you would believe is racist?
If he referred to socialism as "the n-word of economics" that would do it. "Monkey up" is an urban phrase, Google it.
So, no verb could be racist then as far as you’re concerned. As socialism is a noun.
I contend the left are being the racists here, if anyone. DeSantis used an often-used term to describe messing something up (monkey it up). For the left to automatically suggest he was referring to a black man means that THEY are the ones that actually do this.
Breaking: CNN believes black people can be compared to monkeys
Gerrymander, Obstruct, Project. You are in the last phase.
This is not a common term. Notice how these comments are never said about white people? How many comparisons to gorillas has Melania had
CNN put the word closer to the mentioned person, much closer than the GOPster meant. I oppose repubs but this is utter crap.
@jesus There are dozens of phrases that include the word “monkey” that have nothing to do with race. Some do. Most don’t. If black people are the first thing you think of when you hear the word “monkey” i would suggest you need to take a look in the mirror.
This stale Triscuit is apparently not a virtuoso of the dogwhistle.
