Airbnb hosts set their own price. They are not a contractor.

    • Airbnb hosts are business owners because they set their prices, terms and conditions

But Uber drivers aren’t regular employees. They decide their hours, when they want to work and where.

So then Uber can then tell their drivers they are only allowed to work 4 months in a row with a mandatory 2 month break in between, will that make them contract workers then? That’s what we do to our contractors at Microsoft.

It’s called “free market”, no one is forced to do anything. If A treat driver badly, drivers will go to B for help. A will pay price for that naturally. Not by some dumb regulator set up some rule to benefit no one

What if A and B conspire to treat drivers badly to help both their businesses?

Then some C from free market will notice that and help out drivers and get traction

nobody is forced, but when people cant pay their rent/food/and itunes subscriptions, they are forced to take whatever comes across. without this, predator companies will lick their chops.

if your argument holds, why have min wage? nobody is forced to work for less.

many people are not as fortunate as we are, and struggle to make a living and they are the most vulnerable.

and if that rule benefits no one, why drivers went to strike asking for such benefits?
