Can I list myself as someone on linkedin who went to an elite school and then transferred out to SCU ? Can my BS be caught mid interview ? I want to list an elite school in my LinkedIn for the clout chasing recruiters
You will be caught. They have third party organizations that do background check after getting the offer. They’ll rescind the offer as soon as they found out you lied.
You can put whatever you’d like on LinkedIn- it’s nobody’s job to police that. But as others have said, they’ll do a background check on your stated experience, and your offer will be rescinded if it doesn’t check out.
I don't think it matters if you put shit on LinkedIn, you shouldn't, but if you do then it doesn't matter. Unless.. You put that LinkedIn profile link in your resume which you supply to the recruiter, at that point things become complicated. But that can be missed from scrutiny too, however when they ask you to fill out your profile(assuming you get hired) as part of the recruitment process, and you mention that same LinkedIn profile, then the noose tightens. Because this profile and all supporting docs will be given to the background checkers, and they will verify. I'm this case they will ask you with supporting degree or diploma and transcripts. Which you can't produce. They will ask for your registration number and a phone number of someone in the school which you don't have. Given you don't have it, the background check for that school will be 'unverified'. What the company decides to do with that status is up to them.
They did background checks on me when I received my offer. Including calling the University, past employers, etc.
Don't do it. If and when they verify, you're going to look incredibly stupid
Lol you're a tool
What is wrong with people
LC more instead of lie
Get a certificate from said elite schools. Tons of them offer MOOCS - I've seen dozens of people with Harvard on their LinkedIn who just took a 6-week course. If it's on your LinkedIn but not your resume or your application that's just asking to get caught.

I haven’t done shit today!
Don’t. Google even verified my PhD from a foreign university and all my work experience. You don’t want to be caught and then blacklisted
Even on LinkedIn ? I mean, I can post whatever the hell I want on LinkedIn right ?
I don’t know where recruiters get their information from but it is much easier and safer to get a good referral from a friend, a friend of a friend or even from Blind
