Hi, I have multiple onsite interviews in a week. I received an offer from company A. I accepted it and after accepting it I received another offer from company B. I want to join company A but company B is matching my previous offer. How should I approach HR of company A to negotiate again? Any tips?
You likely can't negotiate it. If you want to try I would be honest with them. Say something like "I would prefer to be here for xyz reasons. I just got an offer back right after it accepting this offer. Would you mind matching that offer". I know if someone came to me with that and there were range in my budget I would think about it
You would be an ass if you do that... Even if they accept your negotiation, they will never trust you in future..
What does trust have to do with anything?
Yeah, I’m sorry. I agree with everyone. This ship has sailed. Take this as a lesson for next time that you wait for the second (or third+) offer to come through when you’re job searching. You could have always asked for more time from company A to make a decision, the leveraged that company A offer to get B to hurry up on getting a decision to you.
It’s a done deal. Don’t sign prematurely next time.
It depends on how much though. If it's 10-20k might not be worth it. But if you're talking 50k. That's significant. They might not be able to meet your offer. Then you're stuck.
In my case it’s $160k difference. I have no choice but burn the bridge.
Say what? You received an offer with 160k more? Sounds like company A is under paying. Could be a sign they won't meet your second offer. Were you able to gauge how they feel about giving money during the process?
This is how you get an offer rescinded, true story.
What's the TC for these two offers? That will help us to give more concrete answers.
lmao this is why you wait for both offers fam-a-lam
