So I am planning to resign and put my 2 weeks notice. I am going to a competitor and I want to be upfront about this and not burn bridges (please don't comment on this decision). My company policy is that they kick you out immediately when you are going to a competitor but still pay you for 2 weeks. I am not sure if I am still an employee during these two weeks or they are just paying for it. Can I start working for my next employer within these two weeks? Basically getting paid by both companies. Is there any legal restrictions? @Microsoft @Apple @Amazon @Google @Facebook
Yes, check your company policy. In general, You can’t work for a competitor while employed. You also open yourself and employers up for litigation so don’t be greedy.
So that's the question I am not sure about. Am I still employed for the company after they kick me out, disable my email access, bedge etc?
Unless you sign a Non competing agreement.
This is a question for your HR rep
Why would you think you wouldn’t be able to start work?

No clue for Samsung. I just didn’t tell Microsoft where I was going and they had me finish my 2 weeks. It’s probably better to wait, if they kick you out. Just tell the other company you can start early. But honestly I didn’t take a break and I regret it. Take a week or two off.
The new employer wants me to join ASAP cause they want me to overlap with the retiring employee that I am replacing for knowledge transfer. But new employer is OK if I take a break after that.
Asap can be in 2 weeks.
