Being "woke" always misfires. Being woke is about trying to kiss everyone's little snowflake ass, no? Recipe for disaster is more like it. But what Gillette did wasn't "woke" it was an ignorant attack on men. That's the real reason it backfired.
I thought I was the only one that found the new Gillette ads bizarre. Good to know.

How many men watching that ad actually think that rape or harassment is ok? If women were told that having two X chromosomes is no excuse to be catty they'd be pissed too, and rightly so. Nobody likes to be talked to this way. Is having low empathy a requirement for being woke nowadays?
Considering how often variations of “boys will be boys” are used to downplay sexual harassment and assault, you’d be surprised. The objective is not about making you feel bad for being a man. It sucks that they’re being direct in a way that wounds your ego, but that’s not the intention.
