I joined msft 1 month ago. But i am taking time to complete my tasks and expectations are too much from me. I have 3 yoe and joined as l61. This may be because change in technology stack and little help in kt and all for the codebase. Can they put me pip and how soon. Looking insight from exp candidates. I heard msft is hire slow fire slow.

  • Take your time. No one expects anything from you for first 6 months.

6 months is too long unless the hire is a new grad. But expectations will be less if hired at same level or down leveled.

    • 6 months is usual rampup time for big firms like MSFT and Google. There is just too much proprietary tech to ramp up on. And also it's not like you are sleeping for 6 months, you just aren't working on production critical projects.
