Can you keep creating iOS apps while working at Google ? What type of process is required to make sure everyone is happy? I'm wondering because this would be a side business that brings passive income and doesn't distract from work so manager might be able to approve. Edit: I'm in NY
You should check the moonlighting policy at Google. I don't see a problem as long as you're not competing with any of Google's businesses. That's how it is at Microsoft.
Check with company lawyer. Usually good as long as it doesn't compete with their products, but Google does so many things so you have to be really careful.
Exactly.
Also watch out for using company resources at all if you want to keep the IP yours
Yes but there are usually rules about this kind of thing. Contact your business legal. You may be required to sign a disclosure and a non compete, as long as you are employed by Google
Yes there is a policy for this. Check with your recruiter, there's usually an approval process and some rules you'll have to follow (what machines you use for new builds, the industry the apps are in). Hearsay is 90% of applications for private individual software projects are approved, not sure about preexisting commercial revenues.

What was your base pay increase this year
You can make me owner and I will take 10% cut from revenues.
My question is. Can a Google employee still have a business and have revenue from an iOS app?
