Can you switch jobs while you have applied for H1B extension?

Hi I have completed my 6 years on H1b and my employer has filed for H1B extension on approved i140. While this is a normal processing ,it may take 2 to 4 months more. While my current visa and I94 validity is over. And I just have extension receipt and i140. I am currently on that 240 days grace period of extension. Can I switch to new employer while my extension is pending?
