Can you take a travel sabbatical on H1B?

what risks are involved in taking long travel sabbaticals on work visa? I am not saying an year long but may be 3 months -6 months? Has anyone done this?

If you leave the US, and your employer doesn't withdraw the petition, I think it's ok. I am not a lawyer.

That’s interesting so I can’t take a 3 months vacay and just travel within USA? Please elaborate- definitely want to be cautious in all aspects.

i did 2.5 months outside of US when i was on h1b, no issues
