Trying to move out of the Bay Area. What are some good tecc companies in Canada, mainly Toronto and Montréal? 🤔
Some good ones are those with satellite offices from the bay area.
From what I hear, the best Canadian company is Shopify. Otherwise, Canadian offices of US based companies.
Nice! I'll check em out 😬
A bunch of porn companies sre also based in Canada specifically Montreal
Only Canadian company worth working for is shopify.Otherwise stick to satellite offices of American companies.
Now I'm curious, why is that? Comp? Good growth opp?
Low comp ,low innovation. The comp can be as low as 100CAD for senior engineers.canadian companies lack the global scale and reach American companies have -probably even lower than European companies because unlike the EU the market is either America or bust .So you have a random pool of legacy cellular companies like Bell,Telus, okish AI startups and some shitty middle tier companies. Half these companies won’t even pay you medical and dental insurance. On the other hand even the smallest American company offers free lunch, full benefits and high comp. Of course we have to be satisfied with the “free healthcare “.
