Cancelling cable tv?

I am seriously considering cancelling my cable tv subscriptions. I have a package deal that includes tv and internet, but no one is watching tv in my household. We already have a Netflix and Youtube tv subscription. Do you think this is a good idea? How many of you still have cable tv, what are the benefits to keeping it? I feel like Netflix has all the shows my kids and my wife watch, and Youtube tv has all the sports that I need. What's the benefit of cable tv that I'm missing, let me know.

Nothing. YouTube TV will take care of everything. Save the money on cable and get FOIS instead.

I meant what FOIS service. I have 200 mbps down and up. Never had issues with any throttling with any streaming services, and have unlimited bandwidth. 50 bucks a month. Godsend, esp when u need to remote to work.

Enter your address at https://antennaweb.org/ to find out which uhf antenna you need. You get all local channels for free in higher quality HD than Comcast. Totally legal. You can also get a usb dongle to save streams to your pc if you want to record and skip commercials (personally I use Kodi on win 10).

Yes, cancel. Also, feel free to cancel your compuserve subscription, that is about as useful as cable TV.

Haven't owned a tv for 10yrs. Basic internet + <streaming service> is usually enough, unless you like paying to watch ads at a rediculously loud level between shows, or buy ppv on top of $150-$200+ cable tv packages. Put that cash in a savings account for your kids instead.

    Cut cable 10 years ago.
HDTV antenna gets you 20-30 channels for free, everything else through streaming services. It’s all good.

Do it! We did and never looked back. Get an HD antenna for the rare times you want local tv stations.

Problem is some areas like mine only have Comcast. And those blood suckers don't offer an internet only connection here. I have to bundle and then pay the stupid 10$ broadcast fee every month for something I don't watch!
