In the early stages of the interview process at the moment and I want to hear from people who are/were at C1. What’s the office really like? How are the teams? What is realistic to ask for comp wise? Any insight is appreciated.
My brother works there.. Starting TC around 110-120k. Office is typical tech (open floor, pantry, casual dress, etc). WLB seems pretty good, he works like 9-530ish
Attrition is high at the NYC office. You will be working with a lot of fresh grads right out of school. Capital One actively hires fresh grads into their 2 year development program where they rotate them into different teams each year. If you’re an experienced hire, it could be frustrating working with a ton of kids whom you need to mentor and teach things constantly. Overall, the culture here is very chilled out. You will never have to work beyond 5 pm.
I have a few years of experience, I can definitely see how that would be frustrating
I received an offer for $131.5k and $15k sign on in SF with 1.5 YOE before joining Bloomberg. They wouldn't go any higher, even though my PayPal and Bloomberg offers completely obliterated their offer. The role also sounded quite boring
Hmmm that’s good to know. Which role were you applying for?
Like with Paribus, commercial bank, credit, etc
NYC
Depends what team you’re on. Your compensation is decided based on the level you will be hired at, and your level is largely decided based on your interview performance. Capital One is all about AWS, and most teams are actively working on migrating applications to AWS. What level are you being considered for?
