Capital One Senior Data Analyst Role
I interviewing with Capital One for Sr.Data Analyst role. The recruiter gave me zero idea about the actual role and salary range. Before I spend more time solving their data challenge project which is estimated 10-12hr. I wanted to get idea of their compensation package?any input is appreciated.

What is your current TC? Are you a data analyst?
Not data analyst. Currently sql dev, exp 5 yrs and previously worked as DE / BI consultant role. Base 120k + 10k 401k match + variable bonus upto 15%
Bay Area?
Chicago
Base 100k plus 7k bonus
Dallas?
I hope that's not the pay range in VA. That's disappointing after they waste 10-12hr of candidates on a take home project.

Sf numbers were 135k base. Take like 10-15% off from that for east coast
Big range. Like $75k to $130k or something like that. I think most senior DAs hired now are starting at $100k with a $7.5k bonus

How much is the pay for data analyst (not senior)?

Did recruiter not know, or wasn’t willing? Surprised they’d hold that back.
She mentioned they have many roles and I need to first solve the problem to get invite for a onsite to meet interested teams. At this point I already spent 75min on a hacker rank coding challenge, this is 2nd challenge of 10-12hrs estimated work without anything about the actual role and compensation. The JD is generic.
Just tell her you will work on it only after knowing the range
