The papers I received for the interview said there would be a case interview but they didn’t provide a sample problem, only possible topics. I have never done a case interview before, but I have also read on Glassdoor that the questions they ask engineers aren’t the same kind that are asked to analysts (which I can find examples of online). Does anyone have any recommendations for practice questions geared toward what they’ll ask engineers? This is for the NoVA area.
They asked me to make a command line tool to encrypt files. First was general discussion about reasons security matters then the actual coding. Purposely is left vague. Half the candidates got this and half got a non-technical case.
Weird, definitely not what I was thinking of. Not even sure how to prepare for that kind of question. Thanks!
You can't really. You aren't necessarily expected to be familiar with how to do it, more that you gather requirements and code something (with assumptions/hand waving), or at least that's how I interpreted it.
I think they are a fan of micro services, you should be able take a problem and design a micro service solution
They take anybody with a pulse. Don't worry about it.
