Got offers from these 3 companies (apparently only banks want me sigh) for an internship and was wondering if anyone had any input on which might be the best option. For reference: C1 - McLean, VA $99k prorated + 3k stipend post tax (and living at home so no housing or food costs) Morgan stanley - NYC $85k prorated + 2k stipend (pre tax) + travel to and from NY up to $500 JPMorgan - Chicago $42/hour + 2.5k stipend (pre tax I believe) but money during the internship doesnt matter much to me since end of day its only a 10 week thing. more interested in long term full time opportunity (both at the company itself and in terms of getting opportunities to jump to FAANG and such) edit: These are all Software Engineering Positions and I’m interested in Tech not really banking
C1 is probably your best chance for FAANG. But you won’t get to experience as much as you would going to NYC since you already live in Northern VA. I’d recommend taking the JP or MS offer.
My C1 recruiter said she’s open to conversation about Chicago or NY for the internship but she said I’d need to accept ASAP since it’s almost full. Problem is that I’m still interviewing w a few other companies so I want to wait it out and will prob miss out on those locations :/ I just wanna get out of nova for the summer for once lmao
If I can get C1 in NY or Chicago would it be better than the others?
MS has and amazing 3 month long new grad program. This is 5 yrs ago and I would check if they still have it. But that sets you up very well technically, MS internships have a good chance of full time converts too. Tech culture is probably the best at MS in the street.
Do any of the roles have work that particularly interests you?
Morgan Stanley for sure but it’s also most demanding. Jpm could be really laid back and give you a chance to focus on leetcode. Not sure about c1
