Car rental deals for a long trip

I’m moving from the east coast to Seattle and I want to drive to explore. I was looking at renting a car and dropping it off in Seattle but the prices seems way too high. ~$1800 (4days) for a pick up or a premium SUV. Google is’t helping with all the ads. I could’t find a better deal. Anyone knows the cheapest way to rent a car for that kind of trip? Promo codes .. etc. Renting from Buffalo and dropping of in Seattle

Unlimited miles, bro

Yes I know .. almost all the cars I found has unlimited miles

Then step down your class of car a level. That sounds way too high. Also for “exploring”, I’d give longer than 4 days

One way rental with unlimited miles??? If so, expect hefty drop off fees. Anyway, try Costco, and dont pickup or drop off at airports

Oath Atinlay2 Jul 16, 2019

Yes, it may me the one way component that has the up-charge.

Yes! The daily charge was like $70 which sweet! But the drop-off fee is something around $1k!

I think a large part of it would be the intercity fee, which is hard to escape. Try carrental8 com , I've usually found it to be cheaper compared to other providers

I’ll check them out! I used it before for hotels but did’t know they do car rentals too. Thanks

Costco. But honestly one-way rentals are not good value for money for most vacations.

I’ll check costco I did’t know they rent cars!

This is with Costco next week. Standard SUV is $735. My guess is that no one wants to rent you a premium SUV for a reasonable price.

Costco prices seems much cheaper. I don’t have a membership but that’s alright I can get one. I was hoping nothing more than $600. I’ll keep looking

Omg sounds like a nightmare trip more than an adventure east to west in 4 days

Paychex uda21 Jul 17, 2019

It’s 37 hours .. driving for 9-10 hours a day seems reasonable. And I might extend it to 5 days depends

I have done NY to CA, 5 days 10hours a day. So much fun. As far as renting it try to go on craigslist rideshare and see if anyone wants to ship their car from east to west, they will actually pay you to drive their car. Win win situation.

Wow! I did’t think about that! I’ll check it out!
