Approached by someone on LinkedIn. Any thoughts on this company
Careem is Ubers top competitor in the some Arab and Asians countries. Not sure how they TC is structured though
Careem is the Arab Uber, they're quite successful, but pay cash only (no equity no nuffin).
I have heard great things about the CEO/founder from folks who have worked with him. Not sure if he is able to infuse that in his company's culture.
I have not heard great things about this company. I do not know about the CEO but heard management is a disaster and they lie to their teeth to get talent and go back on promises.
I interviewed. Personally I felt they are bit shady.
Curious why you felt that way?
How was the interview?
Stay away. Bad upper management and terrible culture. I know someone who works there and regrets it.
I could feel that from the interview process.
Love to hear more on this...we’ve hired some great talent in Berlin and Dubai. Founders are super cool and humble.
Great talent? Tell us more. Super cool founders = irrelevant.
Why is that this company is without a VP of engineering and product for so long? That should be a red flag. There is no senior development or product leadership folks. They have sold to Uber before IPO and run by consultants. No tech DNA. Stay clear.
This “red flag” company is the fastest growing company in the Middle East. They must be doing something right.

It’s a good company started by McKinsey alum. Where are you based out of?
