Career Advice for a Late Bloomer

I write SQL queries for reports and use an arcane reporting tool called Jasper Studio, and some Tableau. I'm in NYC at a non profit with 83k TC/3 yoe. I'm also a teaching assistant at a data analytics/viz boot camp run by Trilogy education at Columbia - 13k TC. We cover basic Python, Pandas, databases, and basic Flask apps with JS visualization libraries. Here's what I feel like is working against me: - only solved a few easy on leetcode - no math background - age 38 - my career before getting into reporting was pretty non technical Should I try for a better paying reporting or BI role? Or a data analyst role if that's possible without stats? It feels like too big of a gap to grind leetcode and get a job as a data engineer but that would be my long term goal. I'm not sure what to do but I need to make more money because my wife wants to have kids!

Always seek to grow. Leet code early and often. It’s NYC, if you’re not making 6 figures you should be figuring out how to... or move to Nashville

True story. I feel like the teaching assistant job has helped my growth a bit but it's pretty basic material.

You don't need advanced stats for data entry. Just take an online course, you'l be done in 4 weeks with what you need to know

I think you should try to grow no matter what. Reporting and data science stills has room to grow. It would be nice if you can add python or c++ . Master Tableau and data visualization.
