I’m currently working for a small intl staffing agency and looking to move to a different field within HR or international business. Prior to my current role I also worked for a small family run business where I was working directly under C level Executives at the company. Basically, I’m struggling to get recruiters or hiring managers to give me a call back. My thought is because my titles have both been “coordinator” and both companies are small/niche markets. I’ve had alot of great experience over the past 8 years but really having trouble finding a way to move forward. I had a detailed resume that was too long and recently worked with a technical writer to help shorten and clean it up... its been almost over a month and just a few canned rejection emails and nothing else. any advice would be greatly appreciated....
Small startups. Hustle your way in.
What’s your linked in profile look like? It’s got to be hip and concise. Make sure your indicator is flipped to the on position in LinkedIn to give recruiters at the signal that you’re looking and open to talking to recruiters. Also, it’s worth it if you’re in serious job hunt mode to pay for the LinkedIn premium features. Also, you should consider connecting with some placement agencies. It’s an easy way to get your foot in the door at some big-name companies and then you can learn the ropes and move on from there.
Thanks! I’ve got all that covered. Contacted agencies, have the recruiter flag flying on LinkedIn, currently on the premium plan. Appreciate your guidance. Finally convinced resume writer to hand over word document to edit for multiple fields. Hoping things start on the up swing soon.
Refine your job search to 2 or 3 titles that MATCH your experience and then spam the internet with your resume and cover letters. Tweak with each application but keep the stream of applications steady to 2-4 QUALITY job descriptions every few days. NEVER give up.
