Hey 👋 I am currently working as a Senior DevOps Engineer at a fintech company; I’m trying to figure out which pathway I should take from here that would be worth it in the long run. I’m exploring specializing in Machine Learning or Big Data, a lot of my experienece is in python. Would management be the next best pathway? I’d like to get equity on my next jump. Any suggestions where I should start? My career so far has primarily been working at startups with less than 250 employees, mostly all devops and lead devops engineer. I have a lot of room for growth in my current role but the lack of equity really makes it feel like a 9-5 and nothing more (in the end it is). Salary: $140k/year Bonus: 10% no equity Location: Boston, MA YOE: 7 years, no formal education
Ml is all a mixed bag, people with stats, maths, economics, physics etc etc . I would pick ML
