I am a full time student and iOS developer. I have plenty of experience (2+ years with swift as head developer) and have launched my own app used by companies like Berkshire Hathaway, Sonic Auto Group, etc. I am struggling to find career prospects I am interested in though. I see other colleges career fairs offer names like Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc. companies that I want to work at, but mine doesn’t have quite as many high name companies coming to visit. Is there any way I can reach out to these companies to get them to come and offer internships at our career fair or even reach them besides that? Any advice is appreciated.

If your school was good they would already be visiting
Maybe. The question they will be thinking is, “how does this benefit the company?” Would there be thousands or hundreds of students interested in them or only a few? Aside from the top schools for a given discipline, it is mainly alumni that drive outreach to campuses. Employees push for or volunteer to recruit at campus events. You many want to search for alumni at the companies you are interested in and reach out to them. Also, contact the company and ask about their intern program. We have one, for example, it is open to any campus, but it isn’t heavily advertised beyond the campuses we usually recruit from. Prior employers were similar.
Many students that are interested, just not necessarily the given discipline has the attention it deserves. I’m in the CIT field for my school, we have plenty of robustly talented students in many disciplines of computing and business, but often we’re given the second pickings of the CS department it seems which doesn’t include the schools I’m interested, and the school doesn’t allow cross-discipline career fairs.
Could you message me more info about reaching out to that program possibly?
