I graduated and joined at Cisco at grade 62(128 k base),San Jose this May 2018, inspite of having 3+ years of work ex. But really my manager wants me to do some testing task which I have told him I am not interested but somehow I try to complete the task given. Can I change no the team where there is more innovation and RnD. I want some serious suggestion on how to chnage team. Or should I start preparing for switching to oustside Cisco.
Make a change quickly before you get labeled as a test person. Dont wait.

What’s grade 62? Were you hired as swe ? You have options to move within cisco too. Two of my coworkers ( fresh collage grads ) were hired in devtest .they did not like and in a couple of years they moved to development. Another coworker could not find swe position within cisco so left cisco. This guy was the smartest of all. I mean if you want to be swe the options are endless why restrict yourself to cisco
Option1: try to connect and check if there new reqs via your connections or new hire group Option2: along with option 1 ask your manager, if he is good he will look for reqs under same BU and you will hear back in about 2 weeks. Anything longer look for option 3: apply at new jobs, get a job offer. You can either move out or if you really want to stay at cisco tell that your about to quit if he doesn't move you. This usually gets escalated upto director level. Like others said, if you don't move now you will for sure get stuck. Aka moving out becomes extremely difficult.
Apply outside.. some managers will keep dumping shit stuff on you and keep justifying that it is important and you are doing a great job and then screw you over bonus and promotion
