Career advice

Moved to Amazon Seattle office from Bay Area recently. Moved from a mid senior role from a medium sized company to L4 at Amazon. The work I am doing is demotivating me and making in lose interest. Responsibilities are stupid. I am kind of forgetting what i have learnt so far as well. How do I fix this ?

Why is it demotivating you? Is it too easy?

Give as much detail as you can on why you think the responsibilities are stupid

Work is demotivating. Work is not challenging and work given for L4s is junk. May be if it was given when I started my career, I would have been fine . But at having worked for 3+ years and doing the work which no one else would want to do feels horrible .

Can you match that TC?

No. But itll be a competitive offer and you'd get to own and drive a larger scale project.

Leave or switch teams.

@Lljdhgds find a mentor to talk to. Look around and find someone based on your connections. This can easily become a downward spiral, break the loop as quickly as possible. If you cant fix this fast enough, vote with your feet, move to a different team/org or company. There are quite a lot of teams/managers that actively focus on engineers growth. Hope you are able to fix your situation quickly.
