Career advise

I just joined uber in April as SE2 with a huge potential to be senior within next 6 month to a year. An old manager recently moved to square and he asked me to join his team as a tech lead. What would you do? Even thought I wasn’t fully happy with my tC in uber but I believe strongly in their IPO. I am also very business oriented person and I start taking business courses to move toward management. By the way, the square manager is very high in ladder. Thanks for your advise

Good manager over anything IMO. I would go with your manager if you enjoy working under him. He values you more. Your new manager may or may not be as good as the old one.

To be honest my new manager is very good as well, at least in the past 3 months he shows I can trust him, how about the pay? I have a bold idea to be a well known CEO in 10 years, and the new manager is just 2 step away from Jack Dorsey. I knew square wouldn’t pay very well thought. Any thought?

I’m sure your old manager would at least match your pay if not bring you in at higher pay... he does know how much you were making

If he’s a good manager and he’s moving on up in the world, grab on and move up with him
