I’m a professional coaster AMA
In one more year I may have enough cash to pay off my mortgage. Thinking of scaling down to a remote/part time job to support family (wife works so that helps) while thinking about next steps. Just get bored of software engineering. I’ll miss the perks though, healthcare, food, gym etc. Anyone in the same situation? What did you do? Or is it a “phase” and will pass?

Op, check out mr. Money mustache, the concept of FIRE, financial independence. Why not get out and do things that you love, while pulling in a tidy sum of passive income 😉
Yeah I'm thinking of getting out of tech too, so board, but I still want to upswing my pay so I'm just looking at tech work in other sectors now

I moved from tech (software engineering) to tech business (general manager). I enjoy a lot more now. I took the MBA route and it helped me transition. Do what’s best for you and what gives you motivation. The world needs smart people like yourself and I’m sure you will find a way to solve some of its problems.
Pivoting in career sounds fun. But what’s the best approach? Companies want to hire what u are already good at.

Partner engineering, sales, business development, corporate development, strategy, partner management, analytic, security, HR etc. Dont know what you are I interested in there are tons of roles that many people forget about!
