I graduated with finance and management in 2018, and got a job in the construction industry for some reason. I realize I'd much rather work as an analyst or consultant now, how can I fix my career path?
Did you have any finance experience while in college? And what are you doing within construction exactly? Networking is definitely the main thing for you to do, but going for an MBA in a few years would also help
Highlight transferable skills and get out of your industry ASAP..
What kind of jobs should I be applying to? It seems like my applications don't do anything
What’s your current role? If fp&a, try to highlight general fp&a skills, make it industry-agnostic.
Every company needs general financial analyst... You will be fine but it sounds like your resume needs work.
I'm actually in an operations/sales role, but I'm looking to utilize my finance degree. Just not sure how to break into the market!
Doubt you’ll get much advice here but one tidbit from me. Nothing is broken so there’s nothing to fix. You’re gaining experience. Connect with other consultants and analysts on LinkedIn or a meetup and go from there
