My fiancee will be moving to US after marriage on a H4 visa. She's completed Chartered Accountancy in India. What are the possible career paths for her in the US? She's also open to studying here. Edit: My employer can't start I140 due to layoffs right now. So there's no option of H4 EAD for her to start working. Appreciate any help. TIA.
Employers wont hire FT or even file H1B if she doesn't have an existing EAD...she can try for staffing employers next year for h1b sponsorship and work C2C with clients.
Staffing employers are a pain the ass.
True...else she can go for F1 expensive route.
Also what about h4 ead?
My company is yet to start I140 process.
Indian CA has a very good reputation in us financial world, if you have EAD and check is there is any additional course required for us. My friends are very well placed in Walls Street with CA from India.
Not having EAD is the issue. My company can't do GC because of layoffs. Any options as to what she can study here?
Ok then its a different problem, but as such indian CA is the best in breed from india because people here understand that there is only 1-2% conversion in india. H1b is totally different problem.
@OP: I can't tell you how important getting a H4 EAD right now is... With the plans of the Trump administration planning to end this EAD, chances are that your wife will never have a shot at being able to work in the US. Ask your employer to start your GC process ASAP and have your i140 ready before she gets here. That'll enable her to get the EAD. If the H4 EAD rule gets revoked, I reckon the DHS will still allow current EAD holders to complete their term (like DACA). Good luck !
That's true. But due to layoffs, my employer can't do GC in the near term :(
Change jobs and find someone who can sponsor, you gotta have H4 EAD if you’re impatient
Either ways F1 or H4 or h1...she has to wait for a while....I would recommend to avoid F1 route though.
Change companies - as part of negotiations ensure that GC process is started as soon as you join . In 6-9 months PERM + I140(premium processing) should be done. Then you can apply for H4 EAD. You get the hike plus H4 EAD in a year totally
Assuming H4 EAD still stays by then
Yes
@OP wants to bump this thread as to how things worked out ? Do you mind sharing your experience ??
CA from india does not hold relevance in USA, she needs to give CPA equivalency exams...few of these exams might be waived off or might be easy to crack because of Indian CA.
Even if she does complete CPA, what about work visa for her to practice CPA?
