I have around 50k invested in the stock market. I am interested in long term gains and not really interested in cashing out in the next 4-5 years. since there seems to be an inevitable recession happening soon should I cash out or hold till recession passes.
I dunno, maybe. We won't really know what to tell you.
You should take out a big loan and buy more 😐. Support our 401Ks
Great advice. I will do that 😘
50K is too little to worry about. You should leetcode.
Thank you I am very happy at Microsoft Mr LinkedIn.
1) do you want to buy something with that 50k? If so then cash out 2) if not leave it. 3)what signs of recession are you seeing? You can’t even determine what to do with your money. Let that sink in....
Time in market > timing the market.

Long term for stocks you absolutely have confidence in. Sell those you have doubts. Hold mutual fund or ETF long term. That being said, watch market and don’t regret. Just my 0.01 thought. Listen to what you really want!!!
Nobody knows if there will be a recessions and how strong that will be.
How much risk you want to take? If you dont want any risk then cash out. If you want take less risk then buy some put option with distant expiry If you want to take more risk put stop loss order If you dont want to use the money for long time then dont do anything I think managing is risk better idea than timing the market.
No matter what the rest will say, you should know that very few people in the world have the answer to that question and they are not on Blind.
