Mexicans? China? Libturds? Too many enemies to keep straight.
Inequality should not be considered bad, tons of poor people will never not be poor. Inequality rising means hard work is paying off
Trump. I blame Trump personally.
No no you just have to wait, that giant tax...I'm almost ready to trickle down my savings...
Inequality hardly matters as long as there is social mobility. Inequality is a snapshot that doesn't tell you a lot about chances to build wealth. It will be always high in countries that accept many economic migrants who basically start from the bottom. Social mobility is what tells you how easy it is to change that situatuon. US is not that great in this department and this should be the focus.
In the US, class is tied directly to wealth. So, essentially, you’re saying “inequality is fine, as long as it’s easy to overcome your economic problems.” But, if that was the case, economic inequality would have to be significantly lower than it is now in the US.
No, why? US has some of the world largest ratios of new people entering economy at the very bottom. Think about million+ economic migrants that arrive here every year with 100 dollars in their pockets. It's the influx that is partially driving this statistics. A simple snapshot of a point in time doesn't really explain it. The key thing to understand is: are these still the same people in the bottom whistle after 10 years or these are new ones? If the same, that's a systemic problem. If new ones, that's the 'land of opportunity'.
