Was wondering if it was worth it to get certifications for AWS, Azure and other things. Would it be more beneficial for a student, with no work experience? Or is projects still the best for resume.
If I was in Software Development. The only certs I would get is a SCRUM Master or PMP, outside of that I dunno.
Those are even less technical than the ones that OP mentioned.
Exactly. Technical certs are....excuses for not getting a damn degree, IMO. Many companies use an Agile approach to software development, so you having a SCRUM Master cert at least helps to show people you can deal with how things are done.
OP didn't mention their intended career path. If Systems Engineering/ops, then cloud certs can help you get an interview as it shows a certain level of ability since no work experience yet.
