Changing roles from SETI role along with location

I'll be joining as a Software engineer, Tools and infrastructure in Google. 1. How easy is it to change roles to normal software engineer role? Is it even allowed to do so? 2. Does it require another interview? 3. Are there any constraints on the amount of time I'll have to work in this role because I can switch roles? 4. Is it possible to change roles that too at a different location?
