Changing team at Microsoft

Dear Microsofties, how long do you have to work in your current team before moving to a different team, is there a minimum time cap for a new employee ?
Does working at Azure foundation teams (compute, storage,db) give you any leverage (shorter interview cycles) ?
Thx!

Per a recent-ish HR policy update, you can change teams at any time. We don’t want you to feel like the only way out of a bad fit is to leave the company.

I had to reinterview and decided to leave instead. Doubled my TC by doing so too, lol.

    OP
How common is to go through a full interview loop when moving to a team in different org (say 50% or most of the cases) ? Is my current manager notified when I am interviewing or applying to other teams ?

Manager is not notified, though some hiring managers will want to reach out to your current manager

Almost 100% chance of needing to do full interview loop if changing orgs. Only way to dodge is staying in same function but on different team in org

Any time, but you would probably go through a full loop

Only way this isn't the case is if you stay in the same role and don't change VPs
