https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-03-16/china-to-lure-foreign-talent-for-new-high-tech-greater-bay-area China said it will offer favorable tax incentives to overseas talent as part of efforts to lure professionals to work for its high-tech region which links Hong Kong and Macau with cities in southern China. High-end foreign talent who work for the Greater Bay Area, and with skills that the country is short of, will get subsidies from local governments to help offset their individual income tax differentials between mainland China and Hong Kong, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Saturday.
Have fun breathing pollution and eating toxic food in China!
No softies prefer money.
Air quality is worse than when there were fires and smoke in Bay Area last year!
Frankly; the social credit score thing scares the shit out of me. No way I'm moving near a place where crime is auto-enforced by ML algorithms.
Serious question: So how does this work? Like are they just hiring US tech employees? What about US taxes? Do you need to learn Chinese? Are these companies like Alibaba and Tencent? Or like AI/blockchain startups?
I think they are hiring Chinese working in Bay Area
You mean like. “They are hiring Chinese people working in the American Bay Area away to go back to Hong Kong to build the new Bay Area”?
This is great. Sadly, it is probably only extended to Chinese citizens working in usa. I'm white but speak Mandarin due to disciplined study and practice. Any chance I can get into china and do software not English teaching?
I am curious what is disciplined study? I am thinking of learning Madarin as well.
Immersion through language club, practicing using apps dailys. Also visited china
Half the comp, at most, and standard 72hr work weeks... why would anyone want this?
Feeling like a rockstar, great food, beautiful country, amazing culture and history, etc. Have you visited?
If comp and WLB were good I would definitely live in Hong Kong at least. Maybe Shenzhen for a year or two. But low comp and awful WLB are a dealbreaker.
I like a little competition
Can't wait, bye "talent", enjoy China.
