I got an offer from Amazon for the post of SDE-1 based out of Seattle with a TC of 160k I got another offer from a fin tech company based out of Austin for the role of Senior Software Engineer with a TC of 140k I recently graduated from a very prestigious college having a work experience of total 4 years. Which offer should I accept?
Austin 140k is like 220k in Seattle. U know what to do.
Austin is more expensive then most people think. Also if you're renting downtown it's not too different. If you want FANG, there's not many opportunities in Austin. Some don't even have a presence at all. Maybe in 3-5 years.
Rent <$1300 for 1:1 No income tax. Gas, food cheaper. 8.25% sale tax. My friends live there next to Indeed. I assume OP’s offer is Visa which the office is not in downtown.
Which company in Austin?
Poop butt. Fuck shit. Don’t work at Amazon.
140k in austin is equivalent to 450k in Seattle
Adobe. Calm down with the extreme exaggeration. Austin isn’t a village.
visa is in Seattle too pick whether u like hot or cold weather
Cry at desk or Austin. Tough choice.

Purely based on TC, 140k in Austin takes you further than 160k in Seattle.
