Quick backgroud about myself:
23 I do not have a degree and dont know what to do in my life I work full time to help pay parents with their bills and cannot be a full time student. Currently a temp contractor at google.
Is it worth it to presue Cisco IT Certificates? My uncle — works as a recruiter — told me it pays really well when you reach CCIE and I fit the job. If so what field is reccomended and is a CCIE worth it in the end?

Do you enjoy it? Are you interested in coding at all?

A natural progression could be a data analyst or data engineer with some coding knowledge.

Yeah that would be better than networking:) coming from a network engineer 😬

Why do you feel that way? Is the field that bad?

Have friends who are Network Engineers who say its the best it's been in years.

No field is not bad , it’s been cloud wave for some time now , you can get a decent job in IT may be but for production mostly people need mixture of networking and devops.
There are many core networking positions available however it will be like architect or 15+ year of experience.
On top of that certificate can only give theoretical knowledge , it can not replace experience.

It worth a bit where you get some good theoretical knowledge however experience worth more. Ccie without experience is useless.

  • It is worth only if you can go back in time, 20 years.

The path from CCNA to CCNP to CCIE takes years and is kind of pointless without career experience
