Coming from a Big 4 as a manager, about 7 YOE as a TPM and 11 years total industry experience. im in san diego but the expectation is to move to San Jose office. Whats a reasonable offer? Does Cisco offer RSU, sign on and/or relocation bonuses?

is 300k TC reasonable for thr SJ/SF area?

Is this real? 90% of the program managers I work with rarely do anything useful. If anything challenging comes up, they pass it off on the functional (engineering, product, etc.) managers to deal with. We could successfully complete projects without them.

I get the sense that folks BS about TC quite a bit on Blind. Tech salaries are high, but not this high for non-technical roles.

TPMs do a ton more than just pass off coding shit lol they have a ton of business acumen and are shielding your team from everyone getting on your ass for timelines and doing 10 other things. They also make your work sound good to the business.

My boss is a TPM and the guy is an absolute wizard. He deserves more than 300 for sure

I don’t mean “coding shit.” A program manager wouldn’t handle that. I mean issues about communication, priorities, who is working on what, dependencies, etc.

The functional managers end up having to coordinate amongst themselves.

Current comp: $140k, up to 24% bonus, no sign on. So about $175k TC in San Diego. Housing costs in the Bay are about 10-15% more than SoCal. With that in mind I was expecting around a 30% increase in base plus relocation, plus RSU or sign on.

The role is for a Senior Program Manager within a fairly new PMO. Still very much in tech but not expected to be a SME. The key for PMs is they typically manage more than just one project - functional leads are keyed into one project usually.

You should ask for all three - RSU, sign on, and relo.

You can probably get close to 300, if not over

If it's for G11 and above, RSU's - yes but any other grades below that - NO. Depends on your interview feedback. 200-250K. 300+ unlikely. Current comp?
