Has anyone worked at Citadel Securities in Chicago (specifically as a developer in their low latency team)? I’m interested in knowing more about the culture, WLB, TC, and career advancement.

New hires are required to take grad. level stats, finance, and other related classes offered from Univ of Chicago. Score under a B and you’re dropped. 3 meals provided everyday but if a company is providing dinner that tells you something about how long you’re expected to stay. TC is great. Chicago Bachelor’s degree hires get around 250 TC, Master’s degree around 325. Stack ranking, so perform or else you’re dropped.
Low latency in Citadel Securities is a pretty good team. Very smart people, great comp, interesting problems. The culture is very meritocratic and apolitical. WLB should be pretty good, 40-50 hours a week. Downside: the skills you develop on won't be interesting to people outside of high-frequency trading, which is a small set of firms. And you'll have a non-compete so you can't work at a competitor for a while after leaving. Source: I'm a quant in Citadel Securities

Is “design kubernetes” a fair sys design question for new grad?
Lol @ work life balance
WLB at Citadel is actually quite good. All people care about is whether you're producing. Very few people work weekends or late nights - the ones that do are mostly uber-ambitious fresh grads.
These recruiters -_- who lets them in here
