How was your Citadel phone screen ? Was it LC style ? System design oriented ? Anything else ?
I interviewed there several years ago so may be out of date. Very little LC style, lots of low level c++.
Mine was LC style with an easy and a medium part to it. Had a bad experience and did not enjoy communicating with the interviewer, which was not pleasant or effective. I have more conversational chemistry with my aloe plant. HR ghosted me afterwards. I coded up everything and passed the tests, except that the last method I wrote was crashing on the last element because of a missing nullptr check for an edge case and I got rejected... Perhaps for that and for making a couple of trivial syntactic C++ errors which I corrected along the way. After phone interviewing with 4 FAANG and 4 HF, I definitely know that I want to work for a real tech company. It’s not even a question. My experience with PDT, HRT, and Jane St were all much much better than Citadel.
Was C++ mandatory, or can Java / Python be chosen to interview at these firms (Citadel, HRT, Jane Street). Also. were all of the questions LeetCode or were some questions on like concurrency / low level stuff.
Is PDT as progressive / tech forward as they claim? There’s next to zero information on them outside of some rare vague word of mouth stuff.
LC media to hard.
