Is it just me or does Citi not seem to have itself together? What I mean is within the past 3 weeks I interviewed for 3 different roles 1 in Jacksonville and 2 in Tampa. 1 of the 2 in Tampa I had a discussion with the hiring manager, but have yet to hear about next steps. The second interview I had 2 weeks ago, the hiring manager confirmed that she wanted me to come in the following week for a 2nd round, but now I'm being told there's a hold on next steps. How am I supposed to take the miscommunication/lack thereof? Seems very unorganized and unprofessional if you asked me.
My experience with Citi Jax was also terrible. The recruiter communicates like he's texting his buddies. They don't respond to emails about next steps either. I did one phone screen with 2 team members over the phone and then they brought me in for onsite with the hiring manager. I didn't like the latter experience, it seemed very hurried. I haven't heard anything since and it's been 2 weeks. I really hope they don't contact me because I have moved on to other options, and I would be tempted to voice my opinion about their recruitment process.
Sorry to hear about that. Similar to you I had an interview last week, was told by the hiring manager that they wanted to bring me in this week or next for a 2nd round and in this same week when following up on logistics I was told they've put a pause on next steps. Ridiculous.
Maybe they think you tap-danced around their questions and decided not to proceed. But yes, the hiring process at Citi is a mess. Can't be worse than DB though...
DB is a mess
Nah I've gotten great feedback from everyone so far, just no updates on next steps. I feel like they are interviewing 40+ people.
HR recruitment at Citi is truly terrible, HR try to abdicate nearly everything they do back on the people hiring , they end up doing HRs job , which in this game is a recipe for failure Iām sad to say :( I truly hope this improves soon
If they arenāt giving any updates itās probably because 1) they do not want to move forward with you (or) 2) They got things to prioritize and hiring is not in the list (or) 3) Budget cuts so hiring freeze (or) 4) Too many cooks in the process and no clear communications internally on who will be called next or given the offer My advise, keep giving interviews until you set the foot inside a company. Keep yourself busy ! Reject companies that donāt value your time. If they get back after very long time, just tell them youāre not interested anymore. Again some of this will only apply to already working candidates. If youāre a fresher, just get a job with a decent company and use this methodology. Note: These are based on my personal experiences and not the to go way
Sounds like your recruiter is motivated and your profile looks good to multiple HM but you're losing out in advancing compared to other candidates and proceeding. Ask the recruiter for candid feedback, why are the HMs passing on you? Bad luck or can you do something to improve in your interviews?
Hi, for which position did you apply? Pls also post TC
Citi, as most big bank, are a hot mess. But, nothing is a hotter mess than DB, get out.
Agreed. I have had 2 internal interviews and right after basically a 3rd round of interviews apparantly there was a decision to review open roles, mine was one of them only to find out later the role was "frozen" indefinitely. Smh.
sounds about right
