Hi everyone, I am a new (upcoming) CS grad seeking some advice from folks in the industry. Over my past internships at BB and some others as a dev, i've come to the realization I don't want to be a developer. I do want to move into being a TPM/PM. I have 2 offers atm, from a tier 2 consulting company (think Delotte/Accenture/Avanade) as an application dev/software dev and the other as a Cloud Solutions Architect from one of the top 5. Think Microsoft/Amazon/Google. I did not end up getting any PM offers as I lacked management experience during my undergrad, and so I am thinking of starting here and making the switch to TPM later on. People at Microsoft/Amazon/Google, how easy is it to switch internally? Say, I want to go from being a solutions architect to TPM. I could really use some advice. Please! Thanks everyone!
I would say TAM and PM has very different skill set in MS.
How about going from Solutions architect to TPM? Thank you for replying!
Curious to know how long you hear back with an offer after on-site interview
1-2 weeks, did you interview for CSA? What was your interview format? And which location?
Just regularly white boarding , tech assessments etc. ugh recruiter contacted me on Monday only said the feedback is good but didn’t say when to give offer. I am very stressed
New grad can be a solution architect?
Never heard of it either. Possibly associate solutions architect. I know amazon allows it for associate level and they have a tech-u training program for it.
Hey! thank you for replying. Yes, both Amazon and Microsoft have it. I got into both.
