Cloudflare vs Yelp (London)
I've interviewed at and got an offer from Cloudflare in London. - What do you think about such an offer: YOE: ~6 (non big tech, coming from outside uk/eu/usa.) Base: ~£90-95k Relocation: ~£9k RSU: ~4250 units - How is the company's culture from inside ? esp. the engineering culture ? - How does it compare to a company like Yelp London (Pending offer with better TC from them.)
Base is good for 6 YoE in London. CloudFlare will be more interesting than Yelp IMO. Yelp is not really a thing outside US and I thought it was dying anyway?
That's what I'm worried about the most, Yelp feels like a simple "feature", but Cloudflare is more exciting to me both product and tech wise (Rust projects etc,.)
No clue without knowing the value of the rsu, but I'd be surprised if Yelp beat the base.
Yes, Yelp beat the base (IC3 level FWIW) and I did very very well in their whole interview process. With Cloudflare, it went well but not that well. - Yelp RSU $150k. - Cloudflare RSU $75k, but they just went public a couple months ago, so who knows...
What was the Yelp base? Is IC3 senior?

Join CF. Better visibility, better prospects
Didn't know Cloudflare is greedy like this. Their business depends on engineers but not willing to pay at higher rate. The management must not have engineering background.

95k base is good for London? That makes me wonder what Google pays at that level...
Thanks, that is depressing though. Why would anyone go there instead of finance?
