Coding Language for Algorithmic Interviews

Is it a bad idea to interview in js if your goal is to work mainly on back end (java, python, nodejs)? I’ve done almost 200 LCs in js and not sure if it’s worthwhile to start using another langauge with better data structure support such as python.

Depending on how much time you have , I think u might be taking on too much trying to learn a new language when your time would be better spent on other things.

It might matter. I interviewed in JS at a FANG (for SDE) and was offered FE role despite not talking about frontend throughout the interview

      What position did you apply?
Also might be hiring manager and bar raiser assessment after interviews and design

Regardless the move inside afterwards - also in responsibilities is easy. I’ve seen it happen real fast.
