Coffee Fanatics which hand grinder would you suggest at <$300? Lido Comandate Kinu Helor Use: Aeropress
Hand grinder for hundreds? You can get a perfectly fine electric grinder for <$200
Sure. But these are highly voted for a reason.
It's like Vitamix vs Ninja
I like my ceramic mill from Hario, I think it’s the skerton model.
I have a kitchenaid electric grinder. It was $10 about 15 years ago. Coffee beans have oils in them that can impact metal so whatever you choose make sure it's easy to clean regularly.
The Burr material is cermaic is what I'm looking for. Anything I should look for
There are arguments for having the beans ground consistently in a batch. A lower quality grinder doesn't provide the same cut accuracy across each coffee bean. It also depends how the coffee will be prepared: French press versus a classic drip coffee would require a different grind.
https://prima-coffee.com/equipment/knock/feld2 This is what a lot of experienced baristas swear by. It’s amazing.
Lol. You cannot taste the difference. It doesnt matter. People obsessing over this stuff and wasting big $$ is hilarious. 10 dollar blade grinder is exactly the same. So is buying preground powder.
Yep. OP needs to take the money he is spending on an overpriced hand grinder and spend it on a less overpriced electric. The convenience is definitely worth the undetectable marginal quality loss
Its a big difference when making espresso actually. An even grind will make very smooth and velvety shot with a layer at the top called “Crema” See pics for details. Both good and bad code run. But we all know good code is just much nicer overall.
^ this + use a decent expresso machine or hand pour.
OP, I have a lot of experience with this. PM me for details.
Zassenhaus or Frieling.
Stop using aeropress
And what? Can't get an espresso machine because of travel.
Areopress is awesome! Make such a nice cup when no time for the French press or a long pore
