Has anyone moved from a Commercial Bank to a non-bank opportunity (could even be a non-finance opportunity) without getting an advanced degree? What were the challenges?
lol I am trying to go from the retail bank into credit and it seems nearly impossible. have a degree in finance as well
It was hard for me to do the same thing I had to go to a community Bank to get that experience
what positions were you applying for? would like to be an analyst, but all seem to want 3 yoe
I was doing an undergrad in math/econ and interned at a FinTech company. Returned to school, then dropped out , did a data science program and am now working in FinTech making 6 figures with no college diploma. It's all about using in-demand skills to leverage strong subject matter expertise. I'm helping some of my ex-banking team mates get more into the world of data science / code and they are loving it. DM me if you want to chat more
What's your skillset? What type of role are you trying to land?
sales, marketing, commercial portfolio management. looking to get into technical role/ ldata science without going back to school for the extended period
Happy to have a chat, private message me
